OUR BACKGROUND

Blue Heron is an adult foster home owned and operated by a truly caring local family! Run in our beautiful home nestled on three acres of river-front property since 2022, we are three generations who are eager to grow by making you and your family a part of ours. We are a private pay, Class 3 facility with qualified caregivers who are kind, generous, and knowledgeable. Melissa is the main care provider: with almost 15 years of experience in the medical field, she knows what you or your loved one needs and how to help. After working at local facilities around the valley, she wanted to take that experience and open a home to provide one-on-one care and 24/7 support for the older generation.

We provide person-centered care while keeping in mind that people have unique and specific needs. We will get to know you or your loved one and provide all the care and support needed for full and happy golden years

24/7 Care

With over a decade of experience in assisted living/nursing care, we will be there to help day or night. Communication with your doctors, medication administration and reordering, transportation arrangements, nighttime assistance, and the basics of everyday living (dressing, toileting/changing, transferring, showering, feeding) are all available. These are nursing home type services but with on-the-spot attention and perfectly tailored care. You will be treated like a beloved member of the family, with all of your wants and needs addressed in a timely manner.

Meals, Laundry, and Cleaning

Do you like delicious and healthful meals and snacks prepared and served to you? Do you like the option of dining with a multi-generational family or in the privacy of your own room while watching your favorite program? Would you love for someone else to take care of laundry, wash the dishes, and keep things clean and tidy? No worries! All food and snacks are provided as well as laundry services and house cleaning. Judi might just be the best cook in the West!

Activities

From watercolors to gardening, we have many activities to choose from: painting, reading, crafting, meal prep/cooking, baking, puzzles, games, TV with cable and streaming, gardening, and more! There is plenty of space for walking/rolling inside and outside and comfy seating on the front porch. We have a 70" screen with recliners in the family room, a smaller living room with recliners also, or TV right there in the bedroom. Maybe you just like to sit and chat or listen to music. Whatever your interests are, we are here to make it happen!
